Friskis&Svettis is a free zone from health stress and skewed ideals, linked to both food and exercise. Therefore, we avoid health manuals, diets and dream body tips. We have no opinions about your life choices or diet choices. We know that you can take responsibility for your own health.

- Friskis was started in Sweden in 1978 by Johan Holmsäter
- On the first session in 1978, one person showed up
- Today we are more than 500.000 members in a proud non-profit association that engages and changes our members in 154 volunteers associations. Friskis is present in Sweden (102 associations) Norway (43), Paris, Brussels, Luxembourg, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Vantaa, London, Aberdeen and Fuengirola).

- Anyone can start up a Friskis Association. There is no HQ deciding if, where or when.
- We have been in Luxembourg since the year 2000
- All instructors and hosts are volunteers
- "Friskis” is an expression for “Healthy” in Swedish and “Svettis” is…yes, you guessed it “Sweaty"
- All our classes, and instructor's training, are developed by Friskis Riks (HQ in Sweden)
- Our instructors undergo, without exception, a rigorous training by Friskis&Svettis in Sweden to become a licensed instructor
- There is an annual follow up of all the insructors to make sure they maintain high quality leadership when giving classes. Globally, 150 different trainings are done every year with more than 6.000 instructors and hosts
