Before the class starts, you borrow a heart rate monitor to strap around your chest. On a screen in the spin studio, you enter the number on your monitor and your max heart rate. If you’re not sure about your max heart rate, the system can estimate it based on your age. New to this? No worries—just ask the instructor for help.

In Spin soft pulse, the music creates a landscape of gentle climbs, faster sections, and smooth stretches. The heart rate monitor helps you find the right effort—so you don’t go too hard too soon, and you dare to push a bit more when the beat picks up. It’s a great way to get to know how different pulse zones feel in your body.
