Brian van den Brink is the new Head of Training at Friskis.
Well-known to many in the fitness industry as a prominent voice and driving force behind the media platform Sweaty Business, Brian van den Brink is now embarking on his next chapter as the head of training development and offerings at Friskis.
ā It is with pleasure that I welcome Brian van den Brink to Friskis. We anticipate that his expertise and background will bring valuable perspectives, further enhancing Friskis' role as a leading training and public health actor, comments Janna Hellerup, Secretary General at Friskis.
A strong passion for training and health.
Brian van den Brink's extensive experience in the fitness industry includes roles as a marketing manager, group fitness instructor, personal trainer, and educator. Furthermore, he has founded a personal training education business.
- Friskis is a leading public health organization in Sweden, distinguished by its unique combination of non-profit dedication, accessible training, and strong roots in Swedish fitness culture. With over half a million members, a powerful and long-standing brand, and a broad spectrum of training methods, I take on this role with great respect. I look forward to contributing to the development of the training program and making Friskis even more pertinent to the demands of tomorrow, comments Brian van den Brink.
Togetherness and the joy of movement ā more important than ever.
It's clear that Friskis' commitment to enjoyable and accessible training for all is more pertinent than ever. A recent survey by the research firm Nepa revealed that nearly one in five Swedes never or very rarely exercise, an increase from the 15 and 18 percent who reported the same in 2023/2024.
ā We find ourselves in an exciting phase. While we are seeing an increase in training participation at Friskis, the growing number of individuals who don't exercise at all is particularly concerning in a challenging global climate. We must continuously refine and evolve our activities to welcome an even broader audience. In this context, I view Brian van den Brink as a significant asset, says Janna Hellerup.
