Friskis Aberdeen AGM 2026 – What You Need to Know
The 21st Annual General Meeting of Friskis Aberdeen took place on Saturday 11th April at Cults Kirk Centre, with 31 members present and a further 34 voting online. Full minutes are available in the link on the right.
Membership & Finances
The Association is in good health, with a stable membership of 379 (target: 400) and a healthy financial position. Income for the past year was approximately £7,700 against expenditure of £6,000, leaving a surplus of around £1,500.
Membership Fee Reduction
In a significant vote, members approved a motion to reduce the annual membership fee to £10 for 2027 as a one-off anniversary year gesture. The motion passed with 40 votes in favour and 13 against.
Committee
Elspeth Graham and Suzanne Turnbull take on the shared Chairperson role, with Christine Richardson as Deputy Chair. Mary Hill and Jan Hosie continue as Viking Hiking reps. John Gregory remains as Treasurer, though has given notice he will stand down in 2027 — the committee will be recruiting an apprentice treasurer in the coming months.
Looking Ahead
The committee will be exploring several new initiatives, including member merchandise, a portable defibrillator for Viking Hiking groups, and a stronger presence at public events such as the Balmoral running event.
