This is how Friskis works
Friskis&Svettis always wants to give more people the chance to discover the joy of movement. People of all ages make up Friskis through their memberships.
We're organized into 145 non-profit sports associations:
- 93 associations in Sweden
- 44 associations in Norway
- And other associations in Helsinki, Vantaa, Copenhagen, Brussels, Paris, Luxembourg, Fuengirola, London, and Aberdeen.
How Friskis Grows
Anyone can apply to start an association. There's no head office that dictates when it's time to launch a new Friskis. It's passionate individuals who start new associations, spreading the movement further.
Driven by Dedication
Volunteer commitment is one of the core hubs of the Friskis movement. In principle, all our training is led by dedicated, licensed instructors and trainers. At our training facilities, you'll also find hosts who create a great atmosphere and keep operations running smoothly.
Members Own Friskis
Members own Friskis. This means all members can make their voices heard, and all income and any surplus goes back to the members. This might be in the form of instructor training, improved facilities and equipment, or other fun initiatives.
Member Democracy – Make Your Voice Heard
The annual general meeting is the association's highest decision-making body. The decisions made by members here govern the entire operation of your Friskis association. As a member, you have the right to vote and submit motions (proposals) regarding the association's future. At the annual general meeting, decisions are made about who will serve on the board and their mandate. The board is responsible for ensuring the association's activities are run according to the plans and goals determined by the annual general meeting (the members), and that the association always safeguards members' interests.
