Technical information about this website’s accessibility
This website is partially compliant with the Swedish accessibility regulations, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content described below is, in one way or another, not fully accessible.
- Issues for users with visual impairments
Problems with keyboard navigation and screen readers (VoiceOver) in the modal window for card purchases:
When users activate the link for card purchases via keyboard (or intend to do so with a screen reader), a modal window (a box overlaying part of the screen) opens for payment. Currently, it is not possible to navigate in this modal using the Tab key, neither to reach form fields nor buttons. This also means screen readers (such as VoiceOver) cannot interact with or read the content correctly, preventing users from completing a card purchase. This constitutes a barrier to shopping via Friskis.com. However, card purchases are accessible via another link on the site. You can find this link here. We are working on fixing the modal issue by ensuring focus moves correctly into the window when opened, and that all interactive elements inside are fully navigable and accessible via both keyboard and screen readers.
Incorrect reading by screen readers in the menu:
When using screen readers, duplicate readings occur in the site’s main menu. In addition, the screen reader provides misleading or incorrect information about the login icon. This creates confusion and makes navigation harder for users dependent on screen readers. We are working on correcting semantics and ARIA attributes in these parts to ensure proper reading.
Difficulty accessing opening hours via screen readers when the module is collapsed:
The module showing our opening hours is not fully accessible to screen reader users when collapsed. It is difficult or impossible for the screen reader to detect and interact with the expandable function. The function is accessible if the module is expanded by default. We are working on improving focus handling and screen reader output for such expandable modules.
Contrast issues between images and text:
Some components of the website have poor contrast between text and background images. This makes it difficult for users with impaired vision or color blindness to read the text, reducing readability and accessibility. We are working to ensure that all text meets WCAG’s contrast ratio requirements against its background.
Missing alt texts for images:
Several images on the website lack alternative texts (alt texts). This means that users navigating with screen readers, or those with images disabled, do not receive meaningful information about the content or function of the image. We are systematically working to add descriptive alt texts for all relevant images on Friskis.com. - Issues for users with cognitive impairments
The hero video on the homepage lacks a pause button. - Issues for users with sensitivity to flicker
